While Shooting Stars might not have had a blistering start to the 2022/23 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL and sitting 5pts off a top three spot with the season reaching its halfway point.
One key player that has stepped up to ensure that the club stay 4pts clear of relegation and possibly in the mix for a top three finish is Malomo Taofeek.
The attacking midfielder who has already captained the Oluyole Warriors this season is not only showing that he has leadership qualities in him at such a young age but has also shown in terms of numbers upfront.
Of the nine goals scored by Shooting Stars in the current campaign, Malomo Taofeek has contributed three goals and two assists, the most of any player in the team.
His latest goal was helping to start the comeback from two goals down against Bendel Insurance with the Coach Gbenga Ogunbote led side eventually picking up a point from a losing position.
Malomo, mainly an attacking midfielder can operate on either flank and anywhere on the offensive spine of the team. His incredible skill set allows for tactics to be changed at a whim in the full knowledge that the teenager will put in a stellar performance regardless of his position on the pitch.
Shooting Stars fans will be hoping that he keeps his form till the season ends as they try launch a charge for a top three finish in order to qualify for the NPFL Super Six.
