A former governorship candidate of New Nigeria People's Party in Ogun State, Olufemi Oguntoyinbo has been accused of being involved in a murder attempt that happened in Simawa area of Ogun State.

It was gathered that Oguntoyinbo, alongside 25 political thugs reportedly stormed Aanu Oluwa filling Station located at Simawa on Friday evening and were shooting sporadically.

An eyewitness told our correspondent that a 27-year-old man identified as Destiny Friday was hit by a stray bullet during the gunshot.

It was learnt that Oguntoyinbo has reportedly fled while some of his boys are currently in police custody over the attempted murder.

Speaking with newsmen in a hospital bed, the victim hit by the stray bullet urged the Nigeria Police Force to investigate the shooting.

Friday said he was on his way from work and was hit on his left hand when Oguntoyinbo and his boys started shooting sporadically.

While writhing in pain, the victim demanded justice and the arrest of the Ogun politician.

He added, "I want to urge the police to investigate this matter and ensure all involved were arrested because I was told the man is a very powerful person.

"I did not even know what led to the shooting and I have no business with it. Imagine the pain I am currently going through because some people decided to show they are powerful.

"I want justice and I hope I will get the justice I deserve. This is unfair on me.”
