U15: 3SC Management, Parents Parley As Players Are To Enjoy Health Insurance Scheme

In line with its resolve to keep the player together, the management of the Shooting Stars Sports Club,(3SC) of Ibadan, on Monday, hosted parents of the club's U-15 players, where the two parties discussed modalities on how to actualise the plan.

At the meeting held at the Jericho Secretariat of the team, which was attended by the players and their parents, the 3SC management, led by the chairman, Honourable RT. Babatunde Olaniyan Akoro, rolled out various plans, being packaged by the club,  aimed at ensuring the boys excel in their career.

Speaking at the meeting, Honourable Olaniyan, said the 3SC management was ready to keep all the players, with the aim of nurturing them for the future.

"Having watched these boys at the NPFL/LALIGA league in Ikenne, I am convinced that these are future stars who should be well monitored and nurtured for greater heights.

"With the fact that they already have a big platform like Shooting Stars, we as a management, has decided to get involved in their progress, in collaboration with you, their parents".

Honourable Olaniyan, a former Deputy Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, said only those, whose parents and guardians agree to release their children and wards, would be accommodated as the club will not force the plan on any parent/guardian.

Some of the plans the club has in stock includes, monitoring the boys' football career by ensuring that they play curtain raiser during some of the main team's league matches, in addition to organising friendly matches and competitions for them.

Academically, the club, according to the chairman, will join hands with their parents in the payment of their school fees and exam fees.

Those who will be part of the programme, will also enjoy health Insurance scheme, as the management, according to Akoro, was already in talks with the relevant authorities in the health sector to insure them.

Corroborrating the words of the chairman, the Acting General Manager of 3SC, Dimeji Lawal, expressed the readiness of the club to ensure that its dream and aspiration to help build the players' career, both in the round leather game and  academically, see the light of the day.

"I want to enjoin you parents, to embrace this programme, which will.definitely benefit the boys in the future. I believe if we can all join hands together in doing this, it will be a very successful venture", said Kabongo, as the ex international is popularly called.

Shooting Stars' Director of Administration and Supply, Alhaji Rahman Olapade, who welcomed the parents on behalf of the club, also implored the parents to take advantage of the programme, in helping the young stars to have a fulfilled career.

In their various contributions, some of the parents, appreciated the efforts of the management on the children, even as they described the proposed programme as encouraging.

Apart from the 3SC chairman, the acting general manager and the Director of Administration and Supply, the club's Director of Finance and Accounts, Mr Kehinde Ogundiran, was also in attendance, alongside the coaches of the team, Ayo Adeyemo and Jelili Oladoja, as well as other staff members.

Meanwhile, parents have been given till the 15th of June, to state their interest in the programme.
