Mohammed Hafizu is a Nigerian footballer, a striker for Mauritania side Jahe El Mina.
The 23-year-old featured for Nura SK and Aljazira Football Academy in the past.
In this exclusive interview with our team, Hafizu discuss his career so far and his target for his present club side.
“I want to have a great season with great performances, goals and go injury-free,” Hafizu told TheVitalNews.
“The target is to score 10 goals this season, and I will work hard to achieve this”.
The forward revealed his ambition for Nigeria, his favourite club, role models and Super Eagles’ chances at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon.
“Every great player want to part of the Super Eagles. If the chance comes I will grab it with both hands,” he admitted.
“Growing up I have always loved to play for Enyimba Football Club of Aba”, Hafizu said, when quizzed on his favourite NPFL club.
Every footballer has a certain legend they look up to and here’s Hafizu picking Ahmed Musa and Eto’o as his idols.
“Ahmed Musa and Samuel Eto’o Fils are players I have always looked up to.”
“We have a young side playing for top flight teams in Europe and with the new coach bringing back the traditional Nigerian style, I believe this will help the team in lifting the AFCON”, Hafizu opined on how far the Eagles can go at the 33rd edition of the AFCON.
Hafizu went on to state that, there is no pressure on him to perform in Mauritania.
“There is no pressure on me at all. I’m Hafizu, God has plans for everyone so I am looking forward to Him to make me what he said I will be in football. I am hoping to play in Spain, Germany, France, Netherlands or England one day,”
