Sodiq Awujoola scored on his debut for his Egyptian Premier League side, Smuoha SC in their 4-4 thriller against Al Ittihad on Monday.
In the first game of the new Egyptian league season, Calaba as he is fondly called poked home from close range in the 11th minute, demonstrating high instinct to be at the right place at the right time in the area.
Smuoha SC despite going 3-0 up couldn’t see off the game as they would eventually draw 4-4 in what was a disappointing home opener.
Awujoola, who can operate on either flank and anywhere on the offensive spine of the team, despite the draw showed what he can do to his new club.
His incredible skill set allows for tactics to be changed at a whim in the full knowledge that the teenager will put in a stellar performance regardless of the scoreline on the pitch.
