Busari was speaking in a post match press conference after his side’s final game of the season, a 3-0 win over Joy Cometh FC in Abeokuta.
The result ensured that Gateway Utd finished third on the NNL Group B2 Table as they yet again missed out on an NPFL ticket by a whisker.
“I came here to make history, we were 27 points behind 3SC three seasons ago for qualification, 13pts behind Dynamite two season ago and last season we were second behind 3SC before Covid-19 struck which shows consistency on the technical is all in there”, he said.
“We were unable to pick points away in the first stanza which was our problem as we couldn’t catch up despite coming stronger in the second stanza”, Busari said of his side slow start to the season.
In the 3-0 win over Joy Cometh FC, club captain and long serving player, Omoyayi Saburi played his last game for the Ogun state outfit as he retired from professional football.
