Sunshine Stars’ striker and NPFL leading goalscorer, Sadeeq Yusuf has sent out his congratulatory message to the NFF president, Amaju Melvin Pinnick on his latest achievement in world football.
Pinnick, was on Friday in Rabat, Morocco elected into the FIFA Council – the highest decision-making organ in world football. He attained the exalted seat after defeating his only rival, incumbent Walter Nyamilandu of Malawi by 43 votes to 8 at the Congress held inside the Royal Ballroom of the Sofitel Hotel in Morocco’s administrative capital.
In his words, Sadeeq describe the NFF boss as a true football leader, “I am not entirely surprised that our football president won his election with a landslide victory because it is only a testament to the good jobs he has been doing with Nigerian football”, he said.
“I send my heartfelt congratulations to him and wish him all the best. This is a huge one that is yet again putting Nigeria on the global map. I’m happy for him”
Meanwhile, Sadeeq Yusuf says he is confident of his side getting all three points when Nasarawa Utd comes to town in an NPFL matchweek 15 game.
“We are expecting a tough game from the Lafia side but we won’t leave anything for chance. We need to start winning again and it must start this Sunday”
Sunshine Stars are without a win in their last seven league games, a run that has now seen Coach Gbenga Ogunbote come under pressure.
