If there is anything to take away from the Super Eagles AFCON matches against Benin Republic and Lesotho, it has got to be Paul Onuachu scoring in both games. 

There was so much noise when the Genk man who has had 27 goals and two assists in 30 games for his club was left on the standby list for Nigeria’s AFCON qualifiers. 

As fate would have it, there were some withdrawals from Super Eagles players in France, thus, Onuachu was drafted in. 

Coming on as a substitute in what appeared like a game that would end in a draw against Benin Republic in Porto Novo, Paul saved Rohr’s blushes as he headed home the winner at the death. 

That goal would however not earn him a starting shirt in Lagos, three days later as Super Eagles got all three points and three goals over Lesotho. 

Paul scored a beautiful goal that got fans rolling their eyes. It was a perfect reply from Onuachu to Rohr’s neglecting him to the standby list even after a terrific season presently.
