Midfield maestro Ogunniyi Timileyin “Omojesu” has won Sunshine Stars’ goal of the month for January following his freekick against FC Ifeanyi Ubah in match week 2 of the 2020/21 NPFL season.
Omojesu’s superb goal was scored in only his single game for the Akure Gunners in the ongoing NPFL season.
With the voting ran by Sunshine Stars on their social media handle, Omojesu received a total of 63% for the goal beating off his closest rival Udechukwu, who got 14% of the votes.
In a tweet after being announced as the winner of the award, Omojesu expressed his delight, “I'm honored to win the best goal of the month of January @SunshineFCAkure ,wanna say a big thanks to the people that voted for me, thanks for your support always❤️and @SunshineFCAkure thanks for this platform,wish the team an amazing season.#loveandlight”
Ogunniyi Omojesu would hope to kick on from where he stopped in the NPFL when he formally finalize his move to Latvia side, Spartaks Jurmala.
