Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo splash €834k on Gabriel Okechukwu

Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo have bolstered their attacking options with the signing of Nigeria striker Gabriel Okechukwu from Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Casablanca.

The J1 League side have once again flexed their financial muscle in the market with the addition of the Nigeria international in a deal worth a reported €0.834million.

With manager Mihailo Petrović not hiding his desire to land a marquee signing to lead the Consa line, Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo have finally landed their man in the form of the reliable 25-year-old.

The Water FC product has shown tremendous potential in Wydad Athletic Casablanca and SC Chabab Mohammedia respectively since arriving in Morocco and was scouted by a host of Europe's elite.

However, Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo tied down the towering striker on a three-year contract.

The Nigerian striker decided to join Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo after being linked with a move to other clubs in Europe.

Gabriel Okechukwu also lists Akwa United, Karpaty Lviv and St. George's as his former clubs.
