He revealed this on Wednesday during the interview session with Nigeria Sports Mouthpiece NSM on the inability of the NFF to paid Super Falconets bonuses and allowances.
Dalung said that sum of N700 million was released to the federation when he was in to pays Super Falcons and Falconets bonuses and allowance which up till now they are yet to pay.
According to Dalung, Yes, I was in France during the 2018 Women World Cup where Super Falconets participated. I was there throughout the competition.
“In 2018, I visited the team when they were in camp in Austria in preps for the world cup in France and I had one on one meeting team and in our discussion, they open up to me about their problem which majorly which involves around the none payment of their allowances and bonuses.
“As at then, they told me that, since they were mobilized to camp on May 2018 a dime has not to be paid to them, they went further to tell me that they have to relied on the coaching crew to buy toiletries it was on that point I became emotional and I brought the little I have on me and donated it to them to assist them. In Austria, I inquired of NFF head of Women Football unit who was there, whether she was there with money and she said yes but I think it was not going to be up to anything serious and there were some theories which she also offered I decided to assure them to get the root of the problem.
“So, when I got back to the country, I engaged NFF which they promised they were going to pay that lingered on until they went to France for the tournament.
“In France, the issue came up again, which I directed NFF to solve they kept promising, they did not do anything again, and when I got back to my office and NFF was complaining of financial challenge, I have to direct that the part of the FIFA World Cup money 700million which was kept by the ministry should be released to them so that they can solve the problem of the team and Super Falcons who were also on their way to the World Cup.
“But sadly, as I am talking to you the team has not been paid even when I left the office I exchanged communication with NFF President through Whataps message when team captain mounted pressure on me that they have not been paid I exchange communication with him and he said they have not paid.
“So, I don’t think they have been paid Super Falconet that is what I can say about the issue of Super Falconets.
“They gave me assurance that they are going to pay, but the problem with NFF is that they are good at promises which they have never made good any. So it’s sad that as at now we are talking, these girls have not to be paid and instead of addressing the issue we are still going around about it I think it’s not the best for NFF.”
