OFFICIAL: Cyril Dessers Joins KRC Genk, Signs A Four-year Deal


Cyril Dessers has completed his move to Belgian Pro League giants KRC Genk from Eredivisie outfit Hercules, the Belgian club confirmed on Wednesday,The VitalNews NG reports.

Belgian-born Dessers has signed a four-year deal with the Belgian Pro league giant  until mid-2024, the Club confirmed on its Website.


The move marks a return to his homeland for Dessers after a four-year stint in the Eredivisie where he won the Golden boot as the Joint top scorer last season.

The new super Eagles invitee expressed delight at finally realising his dream move having tired out for Genk as a seven year old Kid .

"I was born here,my dream was to play for KRC Genk, my team," Dessers who will wear the nine Jersey said in  the club website confirming the transfer.

"I'm amazed to play in that Amazing stadium. In football, you don't get anything for free only hard work pays off, hard work to improve every day and make your dreams come true.

 " Now I'm ready. Now I'm where I want to be."

Genk will be Dessers' fifth professional club having previously played for OH Leuven, Sporting Lokeren, NAC Breda and FC Utrecht.

Dessers, 25, scored 18 goals in 29 appearances in all competitions for Hercules, and also won the Golden boot as the Joint top scorer with 15 goals in the Eredivisie last season .
