Former super Eagles forward, Odion Ighalo has admitted that he thought an agreement between Manchester united and his parent club Shanghai Shenhua would not be reached over extending his loan deal.

Ighalo joined man utd in January from Shanghai Shenhua,but with the deal originally only running until the end of may, there were fears that he would not be at old Trafford for the end of the season.

"I was very worried it wasn't going to happen,Ighalo told Sky sports news.

" Shanghai wanted me to return because they know what I can do, and they believe in me so it was a bit difficult.But I want to thank them for agreeing to my wish to stay at Manchester united.

With the premier league set to resume in June after three-month suspension due to coronavirus outbreak. Manchester united managed to reach an agreement with Chinese super league club Shanghai Shenhua to extend Ighalo's loan deal  until January 2021.

The 30-year-old former Nigeria international has scored 4 goals in 8 appearances in all competitions for Manchester united this season.
